A lot of consideration is put in to creating your “canvas”, the area where the molecules that float in my mind all day are synthesized. How exciting is that?
This week I have been focusing on the high vacuum system for the lab. Carefully considering every joint, turn and valve and what materials should be used to obtain a low pressure while keeping organic contamination of the system to a minimum. Who would have guessed it can take a week to pick out a simple gasket or valve?
Tomorrow, I’ll look into using a simpler solution of rigid plastic from Canadiantire and running it directly to the one inch thread on the Edwards pump
